Q4. Is there a limitation with regards to age or sex in the practice of Tai Ji Gong?

Tai Ji Gong's primary objective is to enable oneself in cultivating a healthy and strong body, thereby sustaining the human life form to its maximum potential. Only after achieving the above objective could one proceed to acquire the techniques in self defence, which is therefore the secondary purpose.

In view of the above, there is therefore no limitation on age or sex, and practicing Tai Ji is in fact suitable for both sexes and all ages. After attaining health, the practioner could even acquire skills for self-defence. Furthermore, the suitability of Tai Ji for both the weak and the aged could be best exemplified in its philosophy of (1) In Calm on conquer the pro-active, (2) In suppleness one overcomes toughness, (3) Not using brute force, (4) Weak overcome the strong.

Q5.

In what ways could the practice of the basic course of Tai Ji Gong help in strengthening the body system, and synergize with medicine to improve the healing process for the sick.

In the basic course, the fundamental objective is to clear the internal organs and the twelve meridiens, to form a clear passage for the Qi. The next step is to draw in the pure energy existing in the universe. Applying a set of hitherto secret techniques, this energy field is drawn into the body, and enrich all the internal organs and the twelve meridiens. The result of this process is to get rid of all ailments related to the internal organs.

The purpose of the whole process of practising Tai Ji Gong is to achieve a state - whereby all the channels of Qi and blood flow in the body are cleared of all blockages, thereby achieving a healthy and active body, as the blood flow and Qi flow are greatly enhanced. Even if there are incidences of unsurfaced or hidden sickness, the process will also greatly improve the health condition of the practitioner. When the correct medicines are applied, the healing process will then be greatly enhanced.

Q6. How much time should one devote to the practice of Tai Ji per day?
Would there be any mishap during practice?

If purely for gaining health, one could devote some free time available, such as 10, 20 or 30 minutes, which are all acceptable. Provided the immediate environment permits, one could practise at will anywhere. This could in fact be very effective in attaining results. The important factor to be persistent and practice regularly. This would help in advancing one's standard both in health maintenance and in martial art aspects.

Secondly, Tai Ji Gong is a proven and traditional art form for health maintenance and martial art, complying and consistent with the laws of nature. It is not shrouded in religious mystery nor magical tricks. Furthermore, the instructors certified to teach have gone through years of repetitive practice and have passed the stringent test of scrutiny by the Grandmaster. The method of teaching is also accurate.

In addition, the delivery of the course instruction is through very simple and concise language, understandable by all. Therefore, unless there is any mis-understanding, the chance for any mishap is very minimal. The student is also encouraged to ask questions during and after classes.
